Criminal mischief

LITTLE MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - Adam Shingara, 23, of Shamokin, told state police at Stonington a known white male from Shamokin punched and damaged Shingara's truck windshield during an argument between the two men at 10:20 p.m. Sunday at 1711 Sunshine Road.

Police said charges are pending.

Code violations

COAL TOWNSHIP - Code enforcer Chris Petrovich cited Guy Leroy, of 3439 Decator St., Philadelphia, Nov. 20 for violating two township ordinances for ineffective waterproofing, broken windows and doors, having a hazardous premises and high grass and weeds at the former K-mart department store at 8782 State Route 61.

On Nov. 22, MaryAnn Miller, of 4674 State Route 61, Paxinos, was cited by Petrovich for violating the township's property ordinance for structural hazards, namely the deterioration of the front porch ceiling, roof and roof supports at 1608 Tioga St.

Theft charges

SHAMOKIN - Justin Taylor, 31, formerly of Shamokin and currently incarcerated at Columbia County Prison in Bloomsburg, was charged by Chief of Police Edward Griffiths with theft and receiving stolen property.

Taylor is accused of stealing a sweeper from 316 S. Market St. and selling it for $60 to Frank Albertson of Prices Recycling in Milton. Police said the incidents occurred between Oct. 18 and Oct. 23.

Receiving stolen property

SHAMOKIN - Collin Scicchitano, 18, of 1798 Clinton Ave., Coal Township, was charged by Patrolman Raymond Siko II with receiving stolen property.

According to police, Scicchitano was found in possession of a bank check that he knew had been stolen and attempted to use the check to purchase items from Weis Markets Oct. 29.

Extra patrols

SELINSGROVE - Sgt. Jeffrey Hackenburg of state police at Selinsgrove reported extra patrols will be provided over the Thanksgiving holiday period to ensure the safety of motorists on highways.

Statistically, Thanksgiving is one of the most heavily traveled holidays.
