DUI charges filed

ZERBE TOWNSHIP - Stan E. Campbell, 59, of 173 Snowdale Road, Herndon, was charged with driving under the influence and careless driving following the investigation of a crash on Route 225 at 10th Street in Zerbe Township at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 11.

Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Nicholas Berger, of the Stonington barracks, reported that chemical blood testing following the accident showed Campbell's blood alcohol level to be .143 percent at the time.

The charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, of Shamokin.

Burning violation

COAL TOWNSHIP - James R. Walsh, 54, of 138 S. Franklin St., Shamokin, was cited by Coal Township Police for a burning violation after allegedly setting and maintaining a fire of various items in Big Mountain, a quarter-mile south of Montgomery Street. The citation was filed with Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, of Shamokin.

Liquor violation

PAXINOS - The Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited Glosser Motor Inn, of 1134 W. Valley Ave., Paxinos, on Oct. 10 for violating the bureau's container laws by failing to break empty liquor bottles within 24 hours; fortified, adulterated and/or contaminated liquor, and refilled liquor.

The charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge, or mandate training for the licensee in an effort to educate them on the requirements of being a licensee.

DUI charges filed

SHAMOKIN TOWNSHIP - State police at Shamokin charged Kelly A. Wiest, 45, of 151 Hillside Ave., Elysburg, with driving under the influence, driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked, driving on roadways laned for traffic and careless driving following an investigation into a crash in the area of 4120 Snydertown Road at 6:57 p.m. Aug. 11.

According to court documents, blood testing showed Wiest had prescription medication in her system at the time of the crash and admitted to talking Adderal approximately one hour before.

The charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, of Shamokin.

Nuisance violations

SHAMOKIN - City Police Cpl. Bryan Primerano cited the following individuals under Shamokin's building nuisance ordinance on Monday.

- Ola A. Adedeji, of 204-206 W. Mulberry St., Shamokin, because the property at the same address is in danger of collapsing.

- Keith D. Musser, 58, of 1114 Susquehanna Drive, Sunbury, for a dilapidated structure at 624 W. Mulberry St.

- Jhoel Leonardo, of 13201 95th St., South Richmond Hill, New York, N.Y., for a dilapidated structure at 625 E. Commerce St., Shamokin.
