MOUNT CARMEL - The following hearings took place Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones. Defendants ordered to appear for plea court in Northumberland County Court, Sunbury, can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n David M. Brown, 29, of 236 S. Vine St., Mount Carmel, failed to appear. Charges of driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license were bound to court. Charges were filed by Mount Carmel Township Patrolman Brian Carnuccio following a June 7 traffic stop on Route 2032 at the Choice Discount Store.
n Kimberlee C. Overgaard, 30, of 338 S. Currant St., Mount Carmel, failed to appear. Charges of open lewdness, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness were bound to court. Charges were filed by Mount Carmel Patrolman Matthew Dillman. Overgaard is accused of walking naked around her neighborhood during the late evening hours of July 13.
n James R. Karstetter, 24, of 211 E. Avenue, Mount Carmel, failed to appear. Charges of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness were bound to court. Charges were filed by Mount Carmel Lt. Christopher Buhay. Karstetter is accused of causing a loud disturbance early July 9 both outside his home and outside the borough police station.
Mary J. Karstetter, 45, same address, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct related to the same incident and was ordered to pay $300 in fines plus court costs. Additional counts of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness were withdrawn. Cpl. David Donkochik charged her for screaming and disobeying police commands as her son was allegedly resisting arrest while being taken into custody.
n Cenedra Marargal, 20, of East Greenville, waived possession of drug paraphernalia. Mount Carmel Police Chief Todd Owens charged her following a July 1 traffic stop in the 300 block of West Railroad Street.
n Cody John Shustack, 20, of 947 Spruce St., Kulpmont, waived three counts of driving under the influence and charges of operating a vehicle with alcohol in his system while being a minor, fleeing or attempting to elude police, resisting arrest, operating an ATV on a street or highway and driving without insurance. Charges were filed by Mount Carmel Township Patrolman Kelly Campbell following a June 2 incident on Route 2038 in Beaverdale.
n Thomas Jude Boylan, 19, of 429 W. Second St., Mount Carmel, waived two felony counts of robbery, a felony of aggravated assault and two misdemeanors of simple assault and theft by unlawful taking. Mount Carmel Patrolman Jason Drumheller charged him for allegedly punching a man in the face with brass knuckles, kicking him and stealing his wallet and cell phone on June 17.
n Ann Dolores Stark, 76, of 23 S. Hickory St., Mount Carmel, waived two counts of driving under the influence as well as following a vehicle too closely and careless driving involving. Charges were filed by Mount Carmel Township Patrolman Matthew Filarski following a June 17 accident on Route 54 between Midway Performance and SOS Metals.
n Jessica N. Smith, 26, of 336 Main St., Ranshaw, waived two counts of driving under the influence. Charges were filed by Ralpho Township Patrolman Christopher Grow following an April 6 traffic stop on West Valley Avenue near McDonald's Restaurant.
n Justin Michael Schoppy, 20, of 333 W. Seventh St., Mount Carmel, waived charges of criminal mischief, loitering and prowling at night and disorderly conduct. Charges were filed by Mount Carmel Patrolman Justin Stelma. Schoppy is accused of slashing the tires of several vehicles in the 300 block of South Poplar Street on May 7.
