Dangerous dog

ELYSBURG - Ralpho Township Police charged Casey L. Wydra, 36, of 299 Ralpho Road, with harboring a dangerous dog, a misdemeanor of the third degree, following an incident at 360 Ralpho Road at 1 p.m. May 7.

Ralpho Township Police Patrolman Christopher Grow said in a court document that Wydra's two German Shepherds were running on his property with no leash and no muzzle, and began to bark and run after Donna Kroh while she was mowing grass at a neighboring property. Police had cited Wydra previously after a March 20 incident when the dogs attacked the property owner and her dog.

The charge was filed with Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel. A preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday, Aug. 14.

Drug items

MOUNT CARMEL - Cenedra Marargal, 20, of East Greenville, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia following a July 1 traffic stop in the 300 block of West Railroad Street. Borough police chief Todd Owens reported in court documents that police came across Maragral reclined on the passenger side of a vehicle parked in the area. After questioning her and another individual, police received permission to search the vehicle.

Another officer found in the vehicle a small metal box belonging to Marargal which contained two glass smoking pipes used for ingesting marijuana.

The charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel. A preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday, Sept. 4.

DUI

LOCUST GAP - Daniel A. Peruso, 59, of Lewistown, was charged with driving under the influence and driving at maximum speed limits by Mount Carmel Township Police Patrolman Matthew Filarski.

The charges stem from a June 5 traffic stop on Route 901, Locust Gap, when Peruso allegedly failed several field sobriety tests and refused to submit to blood alcohol testing. A preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday, Sept. 4, before Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel.

Criminal mischief

MOUNT CARMEL - Police charged Justin M. Schoppy, 20, of 333 W. Seventh St., Mount Carmel, with criminal mischief, loitering and prowling at night, and disorderly conduct following the investigation into several incidents in the 300 block of South Poplar Street on May 7.

Mount Carmel Borough Police Patrolman Justin Stelma reported in court documents that Schoppy allegedly punctured several tires on three different blocks and was seen by witnesses.

A preliminary hearing will be held on Sept. 4 before Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel.

DUI

ELYSBURG - Kevin J. Glover, 39, of 1026 E. Chestnut St., Coal Township, was charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Spruce Street at 3:30 p.m. June 11.

Ralpho Township Cpl. Bryon Chowka filed the charges in the office of Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, of Mount Carmel. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 14 before Jones.
