Car into woods
STONINGTON - A Sunbury teen who crashed a sedan into the woods on Route 4013 late Friday will be cited for a lane violation, according to state police at Stonington.
Police say Devin Renn, 18, was driving a 2000 Chrysler west on the state highway about 11:46 p.m. when he drove off the north berm and crashed in the woods.
The crash occurred south of Route 61 in Shamokin Township near the Rockefeller Township line.
Bret Whary, 18, of Paxinos, and Ian Tydryszewski, 19, of Sunbury, were passengers in Renn's vehicle. All three were wearing seat belts and no one was injured, police say.
The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed.
Woman crashes
SUNBURY - A Sunbury woman who crashed a sport utility vehicle on Route 890 early Saturday will be cited for careless driving, according to state police at Stonington.
Police say Chieko Glessner, 45, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Trail Blazer south about 12:54 a.m. when she dropped her glasses. She reached for them and pulled the steering wheel to the left, causing it to drive off the southbound shoulder and into a ditch.
The crash occurred near Plum Creek Road in Rockefeller Township, more than one mile southeast of Sunbury.
Glessner was not wearing a seat belt and suffered a minor injury, police say.
