Two cited in fight

SHAMOKIN - Brian D. Shifflett, 25, of 904 E. Commerce St., and Geoffrey Koser, 27, of 615 N. Shamokin St., were cited by city police Cpl. Darwin Tobias III after a fight in the 900 block of Commerce Street at 5:51 p.m. Wednesday.

Shifflett was cited for harassment, while Koser was cited for public drunkenness. Both individuals were cited by Tobias for disorderly conduct.

Koser was also cited for disorderly conduct by Coal Township Police Deputy Chief Chris Williams after he allegedly yelled and was being aggressive toward the emergency room staff of Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital at 7:12 p.m.

Two-vehicle crash

UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - Minor injuries were reported following a two-vehicle crash at 11:35 a.m. Friday on Route 147 near River View Drive.

State police at Stonington report a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by Dodd Ashe, of Union Street, Pillow, was attempting to pass a slow moving 1997 Ford F-350 truck, driven by Daina Hedges, of Jersey Shore. When Ashe began to pass the truck, Hedges turned left into a driveway. The Santa Fe continues into a guard rail while the F-350 came to rest on along the west berm.

Ashe complained of pain following the crash, while Hedges suffered a bruise on the head.

Disorderly conduct

COAL TOWNSHIP - A 13-year-old male was cited for disorderly conduct following an incident at 2:24 p.m. Wednesday at Shamokin Area Middle/High School.

Township Police Deputy Chief Chris Williams reported the male was allegedly disrupting class, breaking and throwing items and jumping on the desks.
