Coal Township Patrolman Chad Yoder reported Christopher Womer, 34, of Coal Township, was maneuvering his 2001 Dodge Ram in a driveway next to 1536 Pulaski Ave. at 7:52 p.m. when his vehicle slid on the ice and struck the residence, causing minor damage to a wall.

Multiple charges

COAL TOWNSHIP - Drug and theft charges were filed against a 25-year-old Coal Township man related to three separate incidents between August and October.

Ryan J. Thomas, of 1213 W. Walnut St., is charged with felony burglary and criminal trespass as well as misdemeanor counts of theft and receiving stolen property on allegations he broke into the home of Loretta and James Buggy at 1901 W. Walnut St., Coal Township, at 11:20 p.m. Aug. 11 and stole $198 and a prescription pill bottle containing Ativan.

He is charged with two misdemeanor counts of theft and one count of receiving stolen property for allegedly participating in the theft of $1,500 worth of tools and a CD player from a car owned by James Conbeer parked in the 900 block of West Juniper Street sometime between 7:30 and 11 p.m. Aug. 14. He and a co-defendant took the stolen goods to sell at a Shamokin pawn shop, police say.

Information on potential charges against the co-defendant were unavailable Friday.

Lastly, Thomas is charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia after he overdosed Oct. 20 at his home, police say.

All charges were filed Thursday by Coal Township Detective Jeffrey Brennan at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, Shamokin.

According to criminal complaints filed by Brennan, Thomas confessed to possessing the heroin, to committing the theft at the Buggy residence and to helping the co-defendant carry the stolen tools.
