Bizarre behavior
SHAMOKIN - A Coal Township male is accused of running naked in the streets, jumping onto vehicles and resisting arrest when confronted by police.
Brandon Dorsett, 18, of 1103 W. Mulberry St., was hit with a dry stun from a Taser, handcuffed at the wrists and flex-cuffed at the ankles as three officers attempted to take him into custody about 3:10 a.m. Sunday near Shamokin and Shakespeare streets, according to a criminal complaint.
A witness told police he suspected Dorsett ingested an unknown type of drug. Police say Dorsett was heavily sweating and acting bizarrely by kissing and licking the ground as they attempted to communicate. He was taken to an area hospital for evaluation.
A second witness told police she was stopped at Shamokin and Spurzheim streets when Dorsett jumped onto the hood and roof of her vehicle, causing damage. A third witness told police Dorsett was attempting to run into moving traffic and was jumping onto parked cars in the 400 and 500 blocks of North Shamokin Street.
Dorsett is charged by Patrolman Nathan Rhodes with open lewdness, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and public drunkenness. Patrolman Scott Weaver and Coal Township Cpl. Josh Wynn assisted.
Domestic charges
SHAMOKIN - Marilyn Hughes, 23, and Drew Wagner, 25, both of 831 E. Clay St., are charged by Patrolman Ray Siko II with simple assault and harassment for an alleged domestic disturbance inside their home about 5 p.m. July 15. Hughes claims Wagner shoved her into a wall and grabbed her by her neck in an attempt to pin her to the floor, while Wagner alleges she struck him in the face multiple times, according to a criminal complaint.
TV for heroin
COAL TOWNSHIP - Marquese T. Seger, 23, of 907 W. Mulberry St., Coal Township, is charged by Patrolman Jason Adams with theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing a flat-screen television from his mother on June 13 at their home. The 48-inch Sanyo television is valued at $350. Police say Seger admitted to trading the television for heroin. He is currently jailed at SCI-Coal Township.
Public intoxication
SHAMOKIN - Dylan J. Frilot, 25, of 1769 Tioga St., Coal Township, was cited by Chief Darwin Tobias III with public drunkenness after he allegedly was observed urinating between parked vehicles at Water and Rock streets about 2:20 a.m. July 11.
Harassment citation
SHAMOKIN - Roger S. Miller II, 34, of 229 W. Sunbury St., is cited by Chief Darwin Tobias III with harassment. Police say Miller broke items inside his home and allegedly shoved and struck a 23-year-old female about 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
Guilty plea
SHAMOKIN - Jeffery E. Barber Jr., 21, of 77 Raspberry Hill, Shamokin, pleaded guilty Tuesday to possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to pay a $300 fine plus costs.
Barber was charged by Shamokin Patrolman Shane Mowery in connection with a June 16 incident at the city police station.
