Male in custody
MOUNT CARMEL - An unidentified male was taken into custody shortly before 8 p.m. Friday when police stopped his vehicle following reports of an erratic driver.
Borough officers handcuffed the male and placed him in a squad car as they searched the Chevy Tahoe he was driving. Several items were confiscated, including suspected narcotics. Additional information is pending result of blood testing. The vehicle was towed.
The traffic stop was initiated on Chestnut Street, between Fourth and Fifth streets. At the scene were Lt. Christopher Buhay, Cpl. David J. Donkochik and Patrolman Justin Stelma, along with Mount Carmel Township Patrolman Daniel Politza.
Additional charges
SHAMOKIN - Markist Kareem Moore, 38, of 31 N. Marshall St., who was arrested in a drug bust Thursday, is also charged with felony delivery of "spice," a synthetic drug, and misdemeanor counts of possession of spice and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The charges stem from a controlled buy conducted Monday by Shamokin police where Moore allegedly sold a $10 packet of spice to a confidential informant. Charges were filed by Cpl. Bryan Primerano.
